always appreciated but never expected

i'm a critic and occasional freelance journalist, which is not as sexy or luxurious in 2025 as HBO shows made it out to be back in the day. jobs at mainstream outlets are drying up. freelance opportunities are few and far between, and even when you bag one, you're fortunate if it pays even halfway decently (let alone on time). many of those very outlets are being bled dry and the space is smaller than ever before. shit sucks out here.

media's being gutted by the bezos and zuckerbergs of the world, so as a fuck you to them, remember to toss a coin to your favorite writer/journalist/critic/site. support independent media (here's a few good sites) and know that we appreciate any and all support.

the goal here isn't profit. i'm not in the business of starting businesses. it'd just be nice if this thing paid for itself, and maybe even a burger or two. in other words, hit my line.
